For Treatment of Muscle Spasm, Pain, Soreness, Stiffness and Trigger Points
The Portable Tens Electrotherapy Unit is a pocket size, portable, battery-operated device that sends electrical impulses to certain parts of the body to block pain signals. "T.E.N.S" stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. Great for treating muscle spasm, muscle soreness and stiffness. The electrical currents produced by the TENS unit are mild and can prevent pain messages from being transmitted to the brain and may raise the level of endorphins (natural pain killers produced by the brain). TENS units should only be used under the direction of a doctor or physical therapist. Electrodes are attached to the surface of the skin over or near the area where you are experiencing pain.
You can use this Digital Portable Tens Electrotherapy conveniently in your own home. It can be operated under different modes and has a timer.
Features of this Digital Tens Unit:
- Features dual, isolated channels with asymmetrical, biphasic output, adjustable pulse amplitude and pulse rate
- Protective caps over amplitude adjustment knobs prevent unintended changes
- Liquid crystal display indicates operation modes and output
- Five-mode operation: continuous; burst; modulation; strength, duration and rate modulation; and strength, duration and width modulation
- Pulse rate is adjustable from 1 - 160Hz; 1 Hz/step from 1 - 20 Hz; and 5 Hz/step from 20 - 160 Hz
- Pulse width is 50ms - 260ms (adjustable), 10 ms/step
- Pulse intensity is adjustable 0 - 80 mA peak into 500 ohm load into each channel, constant current
- Uses standard lead wires (replacement lead wires are also available at the Neck pain Relief Shop) and "pigtail-style" electrodes;
- When mode is changed, output resets to zero, then ramps up to original setting intensity to protect user from a sudden surge
- Digital unit has a timer that can be set for different lengths of time: 15 minute, 3- minute, 30 minute, and 60 minute periods or continuous
- Patient compliance feature displays treatment time in hours
- Patient lock system prevents user from changing fixed parameters set by physician
- Includes caps over buttons; 9-volt alkaline battery; two lead wires; four electrodes (one pack); hard, black plastic carrying case; and instructions on how to use the digital tens machine
